Search for Paradise
One of the main comments about Miami is that its beaches aren't like those in the Carribean. It's true, and if you're in the search for paradise beaches, you should rent a car or take a boat to find them.
One option which many choose, is to take advantage of Miami's status as 'world cruise capital' to take a boat to the Bahamas. You can find 4-day itineraries for less than $250 per person, all included
If you prefer to drive, the best beaches in Florida can be found in the Gulf of Mexico, in the western part of the peninsula. Some of these paradise beaches are Sanibel, Sarasota, Naples, Fort Myers and Clearwater.
To get to the West coast, you have to cross the Everglades using route 41, or take the interstate 75 from Fort Lauderdale.
