- New Year: January 1st
- Martin Luther King Day: Third Monday in January. In honour of the Nobel Peace Prize winner who fought for racial equality.
- Presidents' Day: Third Monday in February. In honour of all the presidents of the country, especially Washington and Lincon.
- Memorial Day: Last Monday of May. A tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in service to the nation.
- Independence Day: 4th July. On the 4th of July 1776, 13 colonies declared themselves independent of the British Empire and became the first states in the USA.
- Labor Day: First Monday in September.
- Columbus Day: Second Monday in October, celebrating the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the Americas.
- Veterans Day: 11th November. A Day to celebrate the end of the First World War and in honour of veterans.
- Thanksgiving: The last Thursday of November.
- Black Friday: The day on which Christmas sales begin. The day after thanksgiving.
- Navidad: 25th December.
